A little eight year old girl was hit by a van the other day. She was killed. She and her little cousin had just gotten off of the and were waiting for their grandmother to pick them up (she was running late). The little boy stepped off of the curb (you know how ansy kids can get) and the little girl pushed him out of the way but . . . I've been very sad about that. Because, once again, it show how in a hurry, how careless we have become. People seem to think that flesh and blood isn't the gift - that if it doesn't download, beep, have a horn, show pictures, take pictures, make loud sounds, helps you feel high, stabs, cuts or penetrates bullet proof vests, hip hop, etc. - then it ain't nothing!! Money and things are more important than flesh and blood. Hell, most drivers think YOU should get the hell outta their way. I was almost hit on Tuesday crossing the street. The car was right up on me and I backed back onto the sidewalk. He didn't even mouth an apology or anything and I have the right of way. Needless to say. This morning as well, someone was hit but not killed. People don't want to slow down, nor adhere to traffic lights and signs - and they don't care about you. It is sad. Being a pedestrian is like committing suicide.

The man who shot his neighbors dog to death was found innocent. I'm glad. The dog attacked his daughter - she required hospitalization and stitches. The owner had said she'd put the dog to sleep but did not. So the little girl's father, seeing the dog tied to the same pole that it was tied to when it attacked the little girl got his gun and shot it. Then the owner, on television, had the nerve to say: "he acted as judge, jury and executioner on my pet. that's not right." Stupid woman! Was it right for your animal, AN ANIMAL, to attack a little girl! Come on people! I was shocked and annoyed that they even arrested the man. I mean, a month ago an officer in Cobb County let a 13 year old "handle" his gun. The gun, which had a safety lock, went off - killing the little boy. This officer, was in the 13 year old's home. Actually this man was in this boy's parent's bedroom and the parents were not home. The officer lost his job but he wasn't charged. Can you understand this logic? This man, who was the young latino boy's coach, was in these peoples home when they weren't there - in the bedroom mind you. This man was a police officer!!!!! allowing a 13 year old to play with a loaded gun. The boy is dead. The officer not charged but a man who shoots a dog that attacks his child is brought up on charges? WTF!!!! Where are the priorities? People act like dogs in particular are human! he won't bite they'll say - how the hell do they know? It is an animal - and if you can't predict how a child's going to react to something how in God's name can you predict if a dog is gonna bit you or not - he has teeth - he is an animal. GEEZ!!! We have a leash law in Dekalb County. And it never fails that most of the dog owners do not adhere to this law. In my travels, my Marta travels, I've been chased by a few. And all of the owners will say the same thing "he won't bite." YEAH BUT I WILL!!! If the dog was a child would you allow your child to run up on a strange adult? NO! And most of the animal lovers treat their animals like children. So please, tame your children and put them on leashes.

I'm angry today - at asshole drivers and stupid pet owners.
